Here sparkage explains which entries sparkage.org may leave on your device, what each kind is for, how an answer to the cookie notice is kept and how you can change it at any time.
What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a short piece of text that a site leaves in your browser to remember a setting or a choice. Browsers have a comparable local storage area for small entries that stay until they are deleted, and this policy treats both in the same way.
Categories used on this website
sparkage.org presents information and contact details; it has no user accounts and no online shop, so very few entries are needed. Strictly necessary entries keep the pages working and secure, including any value that records your answer to a cookie notice, and they do not require consent.
One of these entries is a cookie set by the server that delivers the pages. It holds a random identifier, no name or contact details, and lets the server recognise a browser that comes back, so that one visit is handled as one and automated misuse can be turned away. It is renewed with each visit and expires 30 days after the last one.
Advertising, tracking and personal data
We use no advertising cookies, no marketing pixels and no trackers that follow visitors to other websites, and information from your visit is not sold or passed on for advertising. Where it can be related to a person, our privacy policy explains the legal bases, the storage periods and your rights.
Consent and the cookie notice
If a notice is displayed and browser storage is available, it saves nothing but your choice, consent or refusal, in the local storage of the current browser (localStorage) and then stays hidden. On a different browser or device it appears once more, because the value was never stored there, and it returns where storage is blocked.
Storage periods
Some cookies last only until the browser is closed; others are kept for a limited time so that a setting is still known on your next visit. The value saved by a cookie notice has no expiry date and stays in the browser until it is deleted there.
Changing your choice later
You can withdraw an earlier consent at any time, just as easily as you gave it: delete the data this website has stored in your browser and open a page again, and the saved answer is gone. Every common browser also has settings for cookies and site data, where stored entries can be viewed and removed.
Changes and contact
Whenever the technology behind sparkage.org changes or new rules require it, this policy is updated, and the current version, with the date of its last revision, is always the one published here. If something is unclear, write to [email protected] or call 01392 410286.
